The view of the Maroon Bells to the southwest from the Maroon Creek valley is one of the most famous scenes in Colorado, and is reputed to be the “most-photographed spot in Colorado” and one of Colorado’s premier scenic overlooks. This evening I had the entire place to myself as everyone had just left after the sun’s rays shined on the peaks. There were no people, no cars or city noises… just myself, the bells, and some bears. Yes, the trail I had planned on exploring a bit as I waited for the stars to come out was closed due to recent bear activity. I have to admit I was on edge being alone.
