“The mountains are calling and I must go.”
― John Muir
I moved to the Colorado mountains in 2010 after falling in love and changing my career path to be a professional ski bum. Until recently I never appreciated photography all that much – maybe it was all of those family photos Mom would made us take! It wasn’t until I looked back at some of my favorite adventures that I wished I had more than just a cell phone snapshot.
My new passion drags me out of bed well before sunrise and also has me hiking back down from a summit as the day’s last light fades in bear / mtn lion country.
I hope to inspire others to explore this amazing world we live in and share landscapes which few have seen!
What is NINETYSEVENTY?
It was a cold, snowy evening in the heart of Colorado’s Playground: Summit County. For awhile I had been up nights tossing and turning, tossing and turning. I needed to come up with a professional looking intro logo / name for a Christmas card video to send out to family and friends back home.
While pondering and trying to think of a super cool name, I glanced out my window to an incredible mountain sunset that followed a harsh winter storm. The mountains; that was it! I needed a name which focused on these towering monoliths surrounding me! As I turned back inside I habitually glanced at my GPS app which was still tracking my movements from a hike earlier. That was it!
This was something I had given everything up in Chicago for. To live IN the mountains!
